Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
TubeTrainer is built to need as little of your data as possible. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. Your workouts live on your device. This policy explains exactly what that means.
The short version: We don’t collect, store, or sell your personal data. TubeTrainer has no backend and no tracking. The only time the app goes online is to find, preview, or play the YouTube coaching videos you choose.
Who we are
“TubeTrainer”, “we”, “us” refers to the developer of the TubeTrainer iOS app. This policy covers the TubeTrainer app and the tubetrainer.app website.
Data we collect
None. TubeTrainer has no user accounts and no servers of our own. We do not collect, receive, or store your name, email, contacts, location, device identifiers, or your workout data.
Data the app stores on your device
Everything you create in TubeTrainer — your exercises, workouts, logged sets, history, notes, favourites, and the references to coaching videos you save — is stored locally on your device using Apple’s on-device database. It never leaves your device unless you choose to export a backup file yourself.
- Backups you create are ordinary files saved wherever you send them (e.g. Files or AirDrop). You control them entirely; we never receive them.
- Deleting the app removes this data from your device.
YouTube & Google
TubeTrainer helps you attach coaching videos from YouTube to your exercises. To do that, the app connects to YouTube/Google services to search for, preview, and play videos you select, and to fetch basic details like a title, channel name, and thumbnail. TubeTrainer stores only a referenceto a video (such as its link and title) — never the video itself.
When you view or play a YouTube video, or open one in YouTube, Google may receive information in accordance with its own privacy policy — the same as visiting YouTube in a browser. That processing is governed by Google’s Privacy Policyand the YouTube Terms of Service. We do not download, host, or redistribute any YouTube content.
In-app video search is optional and only works if you add your own YouTube Data API key in Settings. If you do, that key is stored only on your device and is used solely to talk to Google’s YouTube service. We never see it.
Notifications
If you enable the rest-timer notification, TubeTrainer schedules a local notification on your device so it can alert you when a rest period ends. These are handled by iOS on your device; no notification data is sent to us.
Analytics, advertising & tracking
There are none. TubeTrainer contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA). We do not track you across apps or websites.
Children
TubeTrainer is a general-audience fitness app and is not directed at children under 13. Because we do not collect personal data, we do not knowingly collect data from anyone.
Your rights
Because your data stays on your device and we hold nothing about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on our side. You are always in control: export your data at any time, and remove it by deleting the app.
The website
The tubetrainer.app website is a static marketing site hosted on Netlify. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Your colour-theme preference is stored in your browser’s local storage on your device and is never sent anywhere. Netlify may process standard, aggregated server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and secure the site, per Netlify’s privacy policy.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the “last updated” date above.
